Brad MacIntosh, SAFER Vice Chair, has been invited to introduce the documentary The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo by Lisa F. Jackson. The film is "a search for surivors who pay witness to their own experiences, and break the silence."

Helsinki's Remake EkoDesign clothing shop initiated a Christmas campaign by selling inventive brooches designed out of discarded zippers.

The family-owned Remarkable Bean coffee shop in Toronto is collaborating with SAFER volunteers for a Christmas coffee fundraiser. Anyone can pair up with SAFER and the Remarkable Bean team to sell bags of coffee. For each 1-pound bag sold, $4.00 goes to SAFER. SAFER funding
SAFER has received a grant from OPSEU, the Ontario Public Services Employees Union, valued at $15,000 CAD. It will go towards the purchase and transport of essential medical supplies for the Panzi Hospital.
